Elder White before he completed his mission and went home.

Elder Ogden and his new companion, Elder Owens, with Juan's family

Juan's family...his wife has prayed for this day for over 15 years!

--------

I love Elder Owens, my new companion. He is so funny and such a hard worker and a quick learner. He is fresh out of the MTC and from Durango, Colorado. I tease him [in fun] for being a hick haha. He just likes to hunt and fish and basketball. It's been so fun so far. He is so good at just laughing when he makes mistakes and moving on. Such a good kid.

I love my new comp, probably one of my favorites so far, but it was sad to see Elder White leave. On Wednesday he worked his butt off and munched. We taught like 20 million people and he was just loving life. Just good hard work. I think that man is one of the best missionaries to ever live, honestly.

The baptism went super well and it was awesome to see Juan baptized. The water was pretty cold, but we got in the bathroom to change and he said he didn’t even feel it. He also mentioned he felt less weight. Just better. It was awesome to see and hear.

During my studies I learned a lot about diligence and how we diligently seek when our desires are in the right place. It was super uplifting and made more sense in my head. Ha

Another cool experience I had this week was yesterday at the KU med hospital. This man is going through chemo. A couple of weeks ago we gave him a blessing and he had a full head of hair and looks like he was doing good. Now, his hair was mostly gone and he seemed so tired. His throat hurt so bad he couldn't even take the bread. We gave him a cup and he painfully took a sip. And then went back for another. Idk it was just kind of poetic.

Got to talk to this kid from Uganda. He was cool. We also talked to this guy who was looking for some money he lost. In the process, he went to kick something into the sewer drain, and he kicked his slipper into the drain haha. Then it rained. Whatta bad day.

We got to do a lot of service as well.

That's the week. I love you.
