This week we got to go on 2 exchanges, which was pretty fun. The first one I went with Elder Hamby’s companion, Elder Lloyd. He’s a good guy. We played a little bit of soccer and he slipped into the mud and I about died laughing. He’s a really good kid and was in the MTC w/ Elder Owens.
We got to teach a guy from the Chuukese Islands on Tuesday. His name is Paul, and we had an awesome lesson with him. We talked about how his reading is going in the Book of Mormon and he started off by saying that he and his wife read it together. He talks about how their relationship has improved and it was awesome. Then, we asked him how he felt the 1st time he read it. He said he felt goosebumps and peace, and it was so cool to see how it was blessing his family and their relationship.
We also had a meeting on Tuesday in Independence, MO where we also got to listen to the Prophet’s devotional given at BYU. It was pretty good.
I also got to go on exchanges with Elder Morita, and that was pretty fun. He’s a really good guy and we had a good time working. It was cool because neither of the elders that are usually here enjoy basketball, but they just baptized this 17 year old kid who loves it. We were trying to get in contact with him, so we met up on a court and balled up and it was really fun. I felt like there was a reason I was sent there for the day, even though it was something so small. But we got absolutely disgusting [sweaty] because of it. Absolutely soaked and just brown [with dirt]. But totally worth it.
On Saturday, we went and visited the Honduran family we found a while ago that were already members. We are teaching the mom’s sister, who isn't a member. The mom is going through a lot of pain in her hands and toes. Long story. Anyways, they just live in the dumps and work in the dumps and they asked for a blessing and we gave her one and it was so spiritual and powerful. Then her sister got one too! The spirit was so strong and it was a really cool experience. I know I was sent to this area for that family in part.
We had 4 people come to church yesterday! It’s lit!
We got a text from Roger, a guy we are teaching (and he is so solid) saying how happy he has been since we shared the Plan of Salvation with him. He is such a good, humble guy and is super prepared.
I met a former iguana hunter yesterday from Honduras. He’s a G.
That’s about it for the week. I love you and thank you for everything! I love you!
Elder Ogden
